Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service 2018: FAQs

Is there an application for volunteers?
No!  However, there is a liability waiver that all volunteers will fill out the morning of the event during registration.

What time does the event start? What time does the event end?
Registration begins at 8:00 am, and the event ends by 1:30 pm.

Is there a dress code?
Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes, warm clothing, and clothing that could be used for painting. Also, MLK Day of Service themed long-sleeved t-shirts will be provided.   

Do participants get to pick service sites?
Volunteers are assigned to service sites on a first come first serve basis.  If you are planning on serving as a group, please arrive all together to be placed at the same service site.

How do participants retrieve information about obtained service hours?
Email the Pay It Forward Advisor, Kate Hildebrandt (hildebrandt.33@osu.edu) with any questions about verifying service hours on this day.

Is food provided?
A light breakfast is provided during registration and pizza will be provided for lunch after service.

Is transportation to service sites provided?
Yes! There are buses will be transporting volunteers to all service sites off campus.  There are also several on-campus service sites as well.

Are non-OSU students allowed to participate?
This event is limited to Ohio State University- Columbus Campus students, faculty, and staff.  Any questions about this can be directed to Kate Hildebrandt (hildebrandt.33@osu.edu).
